COPE Guidelines

Vestnik KazNMU is committed to the highest standards of research integrity and publication ethics. The journal follows the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), including the COPE Core Practices, relevant COPE flowcharts, and other internationally recognized ethical standards for authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher.

1. Core Ethical Principles

1.1 Transparency and Best Practice
Vestnik KazNMU supports the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing and applies clear policies on editorial independence, peer review, publication ethics, corrections, and retractions.

1.2 Authorship and Contributorship
Authorship must reflect substantial intellectual contribution. All authors share responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the published work. Authorship disputes are handled in accordance with the journal’s editorial procedures and relevant COPE guidance.

1.3 Peer Review Integrity
All manuscripts undergo rigorous double-blind peer review. Reviewers are expected to maintain confidentiality, act objectively, declare conflicts of interest, and follow relevant COPE guidance for ethical peer review.

1.4 Handling Misconduct
Allegations of plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, manipulated peer review, citation manipulation, or other forms of misconduct are handled in accordance with the journal’s policies and relevant COPE flowcharts and guidance.
Ethics investigations are conducted in a fair, confidential, and transparent manner. Confirmed misconduct may result in rejection, correction, retraction, or notification of relevant institutions or authorities where appropriate.

1.5 Corrections and Retractions
Errors affecting the scholarly record are addressed through corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern in accordance with the journal’s Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern Policy.

2. Editorial Independence and Research Integrity

2.1 Editorial Independence
Editors make decisions on the basis of academic merit, ethical compliance, and relevance to the journal’s scope, without improper influence from advertisers, sponsors, institutions, or funders.

2.2 Research Integrity and Institutional Cooperation
The journal may contact authors’ institutions, funders, or other responsible bodies and share relevant documentation where necessary in the course of an ethics investigation.

3. Support for Editorial Integrity

3.1 Ethical Editing
Editors are expected to maintain fairness, impartiality, accountability, and confidentiality in editorial decision-making.

3.2 Guidance and Resources
Editorial board members may be provided with ethical guidance and relevant resources in order to support consistent editorial standards.

4. Vestnik KazNMU Commitment

By endorsing COPE guidance, including the COPE Core Practices, Vestnik KazNMU seeks to ensure that ethical principles are embedded at all stages of manuscript submission, peer review, editorial handling, and publication.
